We are a recognised C.I.C (Community Interest Company). As a social enterprise, any profits will be used to benefit the wider community.

2. Is PBHO part of the NHS?

At PBHO we will work with you and alongside your NHS GP. We will support you through your dietary and other lifestyle changes on your journey to best health.

We cannot replace your GP and PBHO is not part of the NHS. However, together our team has decades of experience working within the NHS. We are both respectful and grateful for the care the NHS provides.

PBHO is aware that currently, chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease and dementia are increasing rapidly. We know this places a heavy burden on the NHS as well as the people living with these conditions.

PBHO will work towards alleviating some of this pressure. We provide a healthcare approach which is proactive and gets to the root cause of many of these diseases. By focusing on plant-based nutrition and other healthy habits, we will support you on your journey to a healthier future.

3. How will PBHO work with my NHS GP?

When you sign up for your PBHO appointment, you will be asked to enter your GP’s details. This will help us communicate with your GP. We will always ask for your consent before we do this. Sharing your GP’s information will help you receive the highest standard of care and in the safest way possible.

4. What is WFPBD and why do you recommend it?

Unhealthy diets are now the top cause of chronic illness around the world 1,2. Eating patterns high in meat, dairy and processed foods have fuelled our current global health crisis, with rising rates of obesity, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, certain cancers and dementia

The good news is that it’s really never too late to make changes and using the right foods in your diet, along with healthy lifestyle habits, can be a very powerful way to regain your health.

Evidence supports that adopting a WFPB diet is one of the very best ways to do this. By choosing a diet based on fruit, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, you can work towards optimal health, do your best to prevent disease and do your part for the health of the planet.
